Unlike your personal Snapchat profile, which is all about private chats and sharing with friends, a Public Profile focuses on visibility, reach, and showcasing your content.

How a Public Profile Works Compared to a Personal Snapchat Profile

A Snapchat Public Profile works alongside a personal Snapchat profile, but each serves a different purpose.

After you create your standard Snapchat profile, your Public Profile will be created automatically within 24 hours.

You can use your private profile to customize your public profile, where you will be able to attract new followers who find your profile through your Snapchat map or stories.

Step 1: Access the Public Profile

• Take your phone and open the Snapchat
• Click on the Bitmoji icon.

• Click on the Public Profile Option to see your public profile on snapchat.

Now you will land on your Public Profile. As your profile has already been created, you just need to make it more about you. You can also use the Snapchat AI algorithm to create your avatar.

Step 2: Customize Your Public Profile

• Profile Picture and Bio: Add a captivating profile picture and write a catchy bio to introduce yourself.

• Add bio and select location option that shown in the image below:

• Spotlight Highlights: Share short videos (5-60 seconds) to gain exposure on Spotlight.
• Business Category: If using Snapchat for business, select a relevant category to improve discoverability.

Step 3: Manage Your public profile Settings

After basic customization of your profile, you should also have a look at the overall settings of the Public profile, which are accessible from the settings icon.

Snapchat controls access to Public Profiles based on account status, eligibility, and platform availability. If the Public Profile option does not appear, it usually means one or more requirements are not met.

Common Reasons the Public Profile Option Does Not Appear

Snapchat may hide the Public Profile option when the account does not meet baseline requirements or when the feature is not fully enabled. Typical reasons:

• The account is newly created

• Profile lacks trust signals
• Feature not yet activated on the account
• Outdated Snapchat app
• Unsupported Android or iOS device
